He grew up in the woods and swamps of Michigan.  He found his first salamander at age four and has been chasing reptiles and amphibians ever since.  He works with those species at John Ball Zoo and enjoys taking part in training the komodo dragon, dwarf caiman, American alligators and more.  He's especially interested in creating coral reef aquariums.  It's an ecosystem in a box that can be tricky but fascinating to watch grow and change..

UNWRAPPING A PRESENT

 

 At times we get presents from the animals, most times these presents are rather unpleasant and not the topic of polite conversation.  However, at times they are quite exciting, and we can’t wait to find out what is inside.  I’m talking about eggs.
