Wages
$8.00/hr. Seasonal
Schedule
Pre-season (availability a plus): March 1 – April 30, 2012, 20 hrs
per week, 3 days per week (weekends)
Summer Season (availability required): May 1 – September 3, 2012,
35 hrs per week, 5 days per week
Job Responsibilities
This is a seasonal position located at our Membership Entrance. Under the direction of the Membership Manager, the Membership Services Representatives will admit members through the Zoo’s front gate, ensuring prompt, efficient, accurate and friendly customer service and are devoted to providing visitor service in a variety of capacities dependent upon business needs. They also act as membership sales representatives, capturing new sales, processing renewals, and promoting upgrades as well as providing a clear explanation of membership discounts and benefits. Will operate register and credit card processing equipment.
Job Requirements
We are seeking outgoing, pleasant, service-oriented candidates with neat, clean personal appearance and ability to resolve conflicts in a professional manner. Requires ability to work well both independently and within a team environment, and to establish and maintain excellent rapport with various individuals and groups including Zoo staff, members, donors and the general public. Enthusiasm about zoos and conservation is a plus. Requires ability to perform manual duties such as lifting in excess of 30lbs, occasional cleaning, walking uphill, prolonged standing, and work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
Requires high school diploma or GED and minimum age of 18. Will be required to work weekends and occasional holidays. May be required occasionally to work after-hour events. Start dates for these positions vary anywhere from March to May and end dates are generally in August and September. Prefer some customer service or sales experience, or other experience working with the public.
