2009-06-30 - THREE WAYS - ONE PRICE TO DO WHAT MONKEYS DO...HAVE FUN John Ball Zoo, the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum, and Douglas J Salon put on “Monkey See, Monkey Do” Event
(Grand Rapids, MI) – John Ball Zoo, the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum, and the Douglas J Aveda Institute, school of cosmetology, are teaming up to provide West Michigan residents with a chance to see and do what monkeys do.
The adventure starts at John Ball Zoo where visitors can check out the monkeys in their all new environment, Spider Monkey Island. When they’re ready, they should board the “Monkey Trolley” to their next destination. The Grand Rapids Children’s Museum will be offering monkey themed make-n-take crafts and their all new exhibit, Aunt Daisy’s Farm. But the fun does not stop there. Next stop, Douglas J where kids can get their faces painted, monkey style hairdos, and temporary tattoos while moms can relax in massage chairs and enjoy hand and arm massages! There will also be refreshments and service gift certificates to match any amount spent in products that day.
The entire event goes from 11a.m. to 3p.m. on Thursday, July 16. Three trolleys will run continuous loops to the three locations. ADVANCE tickets are $10 per person for general buyers and $8 for GRCM (PALS) and JBZ members. Tickets are available online at www.johnballzoosociety.org or by calling (616) 336-4374 or (616)336-3309. Parking at John Ball Zoo is free and plentiful. John Ball Zoo is located on West Fulton, one mile west of downtown Grand Rapids. There are only 400 tickets available, so those interested should order now!
